Narrative

The narrative of my final video is to depict the deconstruction is an expression of continual transformation movement form construction to deconstruction. Deconstruction occurs in the moment of transform.  While the moment is constructed, the moment at the same time is being deconstructed and transformation is implied during in the process of the deconstruction.
The story begin with the perceiving form & space, the object that appear fragment, non-linear, free and incomplete form to transform into the final appearance of other object in deconstruction style by a stimulating unpredictability and controlled chaos. In an attempt to break away form the tradition thinking, we need to “transform”. Deconstruction may see, to have no visual logic or coherence. They may appear to made up of unrelated, disharmonious abstract forms. But in fact, these forms demonstrate cohesion through the underlying principles of deconstruction. The extend of deconstruction to architecture is that aim to break down or rearrange the typified notion of a building, exposing its inside to previously unseen aspects of its outside and reconstruction different shape and form of space. In architecture world the design should attempt to create understanding of existence in the experience through abstraction, superimpositions of the basic principles of the environment that we create for ourselves. This architecture insists on its own laws, on an uncompromising uniqueness that is reflected in its overall configuration and in every detail, in its materials and structural type.
In our modern world It is a discourse that takes change and transformation as its central principles. Accordingly, deconstruction and its achievement mechanism in architecture can be done through the process of transformation and change. Transformation is a process of exploring the deconstruction of architectural form and reconstructing it in a new form that adjusted with related context and to see beyond to reveal the true.

Synopsis Review

The fundamental idea of architecture consists of primary forms and materials.Although, deconstructionist architecture made clear to us that the architecture is an art rather than an engineering discipline, and it is a representation of a material that represent of abstract information. Perhaps, one of the fundamental assumptions about architecture is that it belong only to the physical and material world. The concept of “resistance” and “difference” are fundamental to understanding of the notion of materiality.
By presents a deconstructionist of the traditional understanding about materiality by forwarding a triadic framework of harderials, softerials and minderials. The understanding draws from the idea of difference in articulating the fundamental difficulty in understanding materiality. Taking the discourse about materiality into the digital realm, a critical discussion of softerials and their implication to architecture are presented. Our ability to abstract material qualities into other forms, particularly a physical form, is a methodology formed of a natural interconnectedness between digital and material technologies.  In appearance, this connection obscures the essential nature of material qualities, but as a wholistic process it reveals a deeper refinement of material presences. The digital medium and its effect is reevaluated with an understanding of the conception in materiality & design process.

Final Assignment - Concept

Deconstructivism

‘Deconstructivism’ is among of many different styles from architecture history. It is characterized by the notion of fragmentation, manipulated the structure façade, organic shapes to achieve distort and composite the architecture elements, such as skin & structure. Furthermore, according to Derrida’s philosophy, architecture is nothing but one of many ways of communication. Deconstruction is a expression of continual transformation that dissimilarity all aspects of former architecture concept. It’s suggested that takes change and transformation as its essential idea. Reversely, transformation and change can be done through the process of deconstruction and its achievement mechanism in architecture. Basically, Transformation in architecture is a process that can be defined as the generation of a target model from a source model. The word transformation in the English language is consisting of the pronunciation of Trans-form. The word Trans related to change while the word Form related to shaping. It suggested the perform of changing in form or shape or appearance of an object. According to Silvetti transformation is a displacement process to create new meaning. It indicates in general a change of shape, form, or structure without loss of substance. In principle, it involves two different substances: transformations of material and transformations of content. Respectively deconstructivism in architecture, is a development of transformation it is illustrated by physical visual appearance of deconstructive styles is characterized by a motivating randomness and a controlled chaos.

Idea of Narrative

The idea of “Transformation” means change, it’s a machine operate form the pass, present & probably in the future as visual and textual narratives and equally as an abstract process and it would never end, since we would like to improve our existing condition to better adapt the different circumstance and our needs. Transformation should be occurring in a subtle way where it explain the process itself but by not mean that the change will eventual become entirely different to formerly, conversely it suggested create new but retain something old. However, it not everything can  be transformed by man made, time and environment is among two, they had their own transforming pattern, for instance, from day to night and seasons to seasons, we could notify the change by the surrounding environment. Sadly, we could merely adapt our perception according to the changed. However by experience those changes, its allowing us more opportunities to generate our imagination of what is our future is going to be.

Interpretation from “Hypertextural Picturesque” and “Systemic Delay”

Architecture is a system of representation, with signifying possibilities that go beyond the purely symbolic. In the same way, Picturesque can be perceived as an architectural structure.
However the modernity has changed the theory thinking into a linear process, its eventual the design is determined externally and upon the execution, and this seems isolate our imagination and creation during the process. Enhance of the technology, the computer simulation as architectural machine, it allow us to emphasis the aesthetic; widen our vision of thinking in more abstract, experimental and dynamic way.  By no means is the technology the only way to achieve our goal but its offer another alternative process in returning to the traditional theory.

The Notion of 'The Machine in Architectural Thinking'

Keyword - TRANSFORMATION

The idea suggested in “The Machine in Architectural Thinking” was transforming the new design method toward to the mechanization. The association between the machine and architecture have been existed in archaic design, and they hardly been thinking they were connected.

The machines are a tool that allows us achieved optimum efficiency and systematic way, as well as in the most economical way. This conceptual thinking were transferring to deal with the efficient performance of the building as an envelope of activities and process. In addition, this thinking enhances more flexibility in the building shape, composition, material and sizes with the notion of limits.

As result, the Mechanization philosophy has transformed the building purity & harmony into optimal efficiently way toward to the design process, it offer the alternative and opportunities to explore in designing in our built environment.
